What Drives Us
Our Mission
Let’s reclaim the true values and constitutional principles of our democracy.
To strive for the effective and functional implementation of the federalist values and principles as embedded in the National Constitution of the Republic of South Africa
The first question that one normally asks when reading about a striking topic or when one merely sees a gripping newspaper heading or a highly visible bill-board statement or some explicit wording that interests you is:
“Who are the people or persons behind this, or who drives this action, or what are the motives behind this campaign”?
Fortunately our motives as the CONCERNED FEDERALISTS are very simple and clear without any hidden agenda or subliminal cause being pursued and it can be stated in very simple terms.
We are of the conviction that;
as loyal South Africans who all endeavour to build and develop our common and beloved homeland as well as the South African national state, to make our professional contributions into the economy and to pay our taxes towards the above goals;
the state under the oppressive and racist rule of the current ANC political party has proven its inability to manage the state fiscus/koffers effectively, has allowed corruption and maladministration to drain the national capital resources and budget and also allowed a culture of non-accountability to become the management culture in state departments, SOE’s and other spheres of government.
We therefore wish to take a firm position against the ineffective management as well as corrupt rule of the current government and to utilise provisions in the National Constitution to devise and motivate a state model in which constructive political rule, sound fiscal spending and effective state management will become priorities.
The CONCERNED FEDERALISTS were formed in a very informal manner by four like-minded individuals with a common passion and love for our country and who all wish to ensure a long term future for their children and grand-children in South Africa. They also share the concerns about the future due to serious issues as already mentioned and therefore decided to study the National Constitution, the Constitution of the Western Cape and other International Constitutional Models to seek for an answer to address the current disastrous political situation in South Africa. We as founding members then agreed that an appropriate name would be best described by the fact that we are all very CONCERNED about the current status quo in South Africa and that we also believe that FEDERALISM as government model would address the constitutional demands best in South Africa. Hence the name CONCERNED FEDERALISTS.
We then registered the above name and immediately made a very comprehensive and sound presentation to Parliament regarding the Draft Bill on the Expropriation without Compensation/EWC. Fortunately two of our founding members both hold a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law and we therefore submitted an extremely well written motivation against the Draft Legislation. The other two founding members hold positions in the financial services world and the property development industry with extended experience in international politics.
We have now embarked on a comprehensive campaign to motivate and promote our goals both nationally and internationally and to ensure comprehensive support for our principles of federalism in order to improve the existing state model as best proven in the Swiss Constitutional Model. We therefore wish to bring government closer to the people and to give you as a tax- and rates payer “better bang for your buck”!
Ironically the South African Constitution have ample provisos and clauses that provides for the implementation of stronger federal government principles but the national government is unfortunately hell-bent on centralising power due to its Marxist political background and ideologies.
We therefore wish to promote the concept of greater powers to the provincial governments in South Africa in order to bring government closer to the people and to ensure that effective services are being rendered to the tax paying public at local and provincial levels or spheres of government.
If you are also a loyal, passionate South African you are extremely welcome and will feel very much at home when you peruse through the information contained in our website.
Amongst others you will find the South African National Constitution, the Western Cape Constitution, our presentation to Parliament regarding the Draft Bill on EWC, Information on the Swiss Federalist or Kanton Constitutional Model, the Constitution of the CONCERNED FEDERALISTS as a NPO/Non-Profit Organisation, our main aims and goals, our communication proposals to reach you as an interested reader and proposed ways how you could reach us in order to provide us with your comments and inputs.
A very warm welcome to our website! We believe that it will motivate you to become involved in this strong drive to build a sustainable and better South Africa!
Always remember: “YOU HAVE RIGHTS”…let us utilise them to make a positive contribution to our future before it is too late!
